This cookie policy explains which cookies and similar technologies can be used when you visit visionskylightscambridge.co.uk, who sets them, and how you can control them.
Vision Skylights installs and replaces rooflights and skylights across Cambridge and roughly 30 miles around. The website exists to explain that work, from roof lanterns to conservation rooflights, and to let you book a light survey. We have no public premises and publish no postal address, so the website and email are the main ways people reach us.

Others remember your choices, measure visits or follow you between sites for advertising. UK law, under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR, requires a site to tell you about the cookies it uses and to ask for consent before setting any that are not strictly necessary.
Cookies set by this website
The site itself sets no advertising cookies and runs no advertising trackers, so browsing our guides and service pages does not add you to an advertising audience.
The website runs on WordPress. When you simply read pages, WordPress does not normally need to store anything in your browser. A small number of strictly necessary cookies can appear in limited cases, for example if you log in to the site as an administrator. These are used only to make that function work and are removed when you log out or when they expire.
Your browser may also keep ordinary cached copies of pages, fonts and images so that the site loads faster on your next visit. This is standard browser behaviour and holds no personal information about you.
Third-party services on our pages
Some pages include content that loads from other organisations. When that happens, the other organisation receives your IP address and basic browser details, and may set its own cookies under its own policy.

The enquiry form is provided by our customer relationship management (CRM) provider and is embedded as an iframe. Because it is a separate service running inside our page, it may set cookies needed to load the form, protect it from spam and submit your details securely. What you type into the form is handled as described in our privacy policy.
Map images on our area pages come from OpenStreetMap tile servers. Requesting those tiles sends your IP address to the tile provider, which uses it to deliver the images and to guard against misuse. OpenStreetMap publishes its own privacy policy explaining this.
The WhatsApp button is a link. Nothing loads from WhatsApp until you tap it, at which point WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy apply.
How to control cookies
You stay in control: every modern browser lets you see, block and delete cookies, and you can change those settings at any time.
- Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies.
- Safari: Settings or Preferences, then Privacy, then Prevent cross-site tracking or Block all cookies.
- Firefox: Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Enhanced Tracking Protection.
- Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions.
Blocking third-party cookies will not stop you reading any page on the site. It may stop the embedded enquiry form from loading or submitting. If that happens, email us or message us on WhatsApp instead. Blocking all cookies can also affect other websites you use, so you may prefer to block third-party cookies only.

Changes to this policy
We will update this page if the services on the website change, for example if we add a new embedded tool or a measurement service.
